Cristiano Ronaldo was officially announced as an Al-Nassr player a day ago in a glittering ceremony at the Mrsool Park in Riyadh. He received a warm reception at his new home as he sported the club’s traditional yellow and blue strip. However, fans might have to wait longer to see him in action at his new club as he has been banned from competing, not just in one but two of Al-Nassr’s games, in which he would normally be available for selection, according to a report in Mail Online. And this ban stretches way back to what he did after Manchester United were beaten by Everton last season. Cristiano Ronaldo Hands Signed Ball to Kid in the Crowd After Being Unveiled As Al-Nassr Player at Mrsool Park (Watch Video).

Fans would remember that Ronaldo, after that loss, had flicked a phone off a fan’s hand who was filming him as he walked down the tunnel. The incident was then reviewed and a fine of £50,000 was slapped on the player along with a two-match ban after he was found guilty of improper conduct. Many would have thought that Ronaldo would serve the ban as a Manchester United player but that was not to be after his contract was mutually terminated after an explosive interview where the slammed the club, its owners and also the coach Erik ten Hag. With Ronaldo having gone from Manchester United during the World Cup, the two-game ban imposed by the FA would have carried over to his next club and so it has. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner will not be able to play in two of Al-Nassr’s competitive matches and will have to wait a little longer to make his debut. Al-Nassr next play against Al-Ta’ee in the Saudi Pro League on January 5.
