Cristiano Ronaldo might have not reportedly been in the race to win the Ballon d’Or 2018 but has definitely made it to the final nominations of by Globe Soccer Awards 2018 for the title of a Best Player. He will be battling it out the French duo Antoine Griezmann and Kylian Mbappé. Which means, Barcelona star Lionel Messi has been snubbed from the top three race. The 10th edition of the Globe Soccer Awards is scheduled to happen at Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai on January 3, 2019. The awards are conducted by the Dubai Sports Council. On the eve of announcing the finalists, Globe Soccer CEO, Tommaso Bendoni, said, “The 10th anniversary of the Globe Soccer Awards is a special milestone so we are delighted to announce Cristiano Ronaldo, Antoine Griezmann and Kylian Mbappe as the finalists in the Best Player category. Cristiano Ronaldo is the only player to win all three ‘Grand Slam’ award titles in one year, a feat he accomplished in both 2016 and 2017. Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri has been running for the title of the Best Coach alongside Real Madrid coach, Zinédine Zidane, Diego Simeone of Atletico Madrid, Jürgen Klopp of Liverpool and the coach of France, world champion in Russia 2018, Didier Deschamps.
