Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri has revealed Cristiano Ronaldo was "angry" after he was snubbed at the UEFA Player of the Year award. Ronaldo finished behind his former Santiago Bernabeu team-mate Luka Modric in the voting. Modric beat Ronaldo by 90 voting points and surpassed Egyptian footballer Mohamed Salah 179 points to win the award. Ronaldo, however, won the Best Striker award but did not pick it up as he was not present at the prize distribution ceremony. Zlatan Ibrahimovic Fined by MLS for Allegedly Slapping LAFC Forward Lee Nguyen (Watch Video)

Meanwhile, Allegri has said that Ronaldo was unimpressed. "Cristiano is fine and he has trained well, on Thursday, he was angry because he won the Champions League and scored 15 goals. This shows that he always wants to be the best,” Allegri was quoted as saying by the Goal.

Allegri revealed why Ronaldo did not attend the award ceremony in Monaco. "It was a personal decision and it must be respected,” Allegri added.

Meanwhile, Ronaldo's agent, Jorge Mendes also expressed his discontent over the Portuguese striker not receiving the UEFA Best Player award. Mendes said that not giving Ronaldo the award is 'ridiculous' as he not only scored 15 goals but also took the Real Madrid to the Champions League glory.

"Simply ridiculous. Cristiano Ronaldo scored 15 goals, taking Real Madrid to Champions League victory once again, it's just ridiculous," Marca.com quoted Mendes, as saying. (Inputs ANI).
