Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata will permanently join Atletico Madrid at the end of his 18-month loan deal, the Premier League club announced on Saturday. The Spanish striker was Chelsea’s record signing when he joined the club from Real Madrid for $75 million (Rs 5.14 billion) on a five-year contract last season. Morata scored 24 goals in 72 appearances for the Blues including the winner in his Premier League debut but injuries coupled with poor form kept him out of the match-day squad. “Happy. It's official now. Now I'll have time to return with work and goals all the effort of the club and the affection of the fan. Thank you!!!” Tweeted the 26-year-old once the deal was completed.

But it was Chelsea’s second tweet which started the troll on Morata. The club after revealing Morata’s departure announced that youngster Ruben Loftus-Cheek had signed a new long-term contract extension with the club. Fans, however, soon caught the club’s possible cheeky dig at the striker and started trolling Morata.

"We would like to thank Alvaro for his contribution and wish him the best of luck for the future," Chelsea said in a statement. Meanwhile, the club recently appointed former player and club legend Frank Lampard as its head coach on a three-year contract. Lampard replaced the outgoing Maurizio Sarri, who is set to join Juventus.

Chelsea has also signed US international Christian Pulisic and Mateo Kovacic from Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid. The Premier League side, however, lost talisman Eden Hazard to Madrid for a club record fee.
