Obviously, the safety of the players and everyone else involved with the clubs was the top priority. The clubs like Aston Villa and Brighton also revealed positive tests on Monday. This has obviously disrupted the schedules of the mid-week fixture. The club informed the fans that the ongoing outbreak required surveillance. Manchester United Shut Down First-Term Operations Due to COVID-19 Outbreak.
"A decision was taken to close first-team operations at the Carrington Training Complex for 24 hours to help minimise risk of further infection, and individuals who tested positive are isolating in line with Premier League protocols," read a statement. Even Tottenham's Premier League fixture against Brighton on Sunday was postponed after eight players and five of their staff members were tested positive for COVID-19.
