Brazil's 1962 World Cup winning striker Coutinho passed away on Monday night. He was 75.
Rio de Janeiro, March 12: Brazil's 1962 World Cup winning striker Coutinho passed away on Monday night. He was 75. Coutinho was considered by Pele as his favorite attacking partner at Santos FC. Coutinho's club Santos announced the news in a statement on Twitter.
The club said he died at home and his funeral will be at Santos' stadium. Coutinho, who made his debut as a 14-year old for Santos, was taken to a hospital because of pneumonia in January and also suffered from diabetes. He scored 368 goals for the club and played only 15 times for Brazil.
