The name Cristiano Ronaldo needs no introduction. The ace-footballer from Portugal will turn 33 this Monday. Currently, Ronaldo plays as a ‘forward’ player for his national team Portugal and the Spanish-giant football club – Real Madrid. Ronaldo has won the prestigious Ballon d’Or awards for five times – the most for a European player and is tied with Lionel Messi for all-time most. Not many know the fact that Ronaldo is the first player in history to win four European Golden Shoes. His trophy memorabilia includes championship titles around the world. Ronaldo has won over 25 major trophies in his career and is still raring to go.
Ronaldo was born on February 5, 1985, on an island named Madeira, in Portugal. In the early stage of his career, Ronaldo was diagnosed with a heart-ailment at a tender age of 15. Post the successful operation of the illness, there was no looking back and as they say, the rest is history.
Ronaldo began his career with Sporting CP, moved to Manchester United and eventually was signed by Real Madrid for then record-fee of 80 Million Euros. A lot has been said about the Los Blancos’ footballer over the years. However, Ronaldo has always been able to silence his critics with his impeccable performance on the football field.
