It is understood that Manchester United will submit a bid which will reach €100 million including add-ons. Ajax had rejected the English side's earlier advances for their star but are now willing to negotiate as the current fee matches their valuation of the player.
The deal is yet to get over the line but Manchester United are close to securing the transfer. Both the clubs have agreed with the fee and now only need to be on the same page about the structure of the bid. The talks are set to continue with the deal expected to be completed in the next few days.
Antony had been pushing for a move to Manchester United ever since the club's interest in him. The Brazilian was left out of the Ajax squad for their encounter against Sparta Rotterdam due to his uncertain future. However, the player's camp is now confident that the deal will go through.
Ajax manager Alfred Schreuder had requested the club to keep hold of Antony after losing a number of players this summer and is upset with Ajax's decision to sell him. 'Everything is about money. I think this is sad' he told ESPN. 'But this is our world, it's very sad and I don't approve that these things at all,' he added.
