For a few days now, there has been a speculation if Mohamed Salah will be able to play the opening game of Egypt vs Uruguay which is slated to happen tomorrow at Grozny, Ekaterinburg. Salah got injured during the finals of the Champions League while playing against Real Madrid after a tackle with Sergio Ramos in Kiev. Now, this piece of news will definitely put a smile on the faces of Egyptian fans. According to the coach of the Egypt team, Hector Cuper, Salah has a great chance of playing the first match.
"I am optimistic that he will be with us, I think he has a great chance to participate, he has been training with the ball and his condition has improved compared to the last days," Cuper wrote on Facebook. Ihab Leheta, the national team manager, told Reuters over the phone: "The medical staff will provide a comprehensive report on the condition of Salah tomorrow and the coach will not rush in his decision."
Salah was forced to leave the stadium teary-eyed after the first 30 minutes of the game. A couple of days ago, when a fan approach Salah for a selfie, the star footballer asked him to remove his hand from his shoulder as he was experiencing discomfort. However, the team manager back then had said that Salah was training indoors in the gym. "He has daily treatment sessions on his shoulder. He trains indoors as well in the gym, and today he trained on the pitch. He is gradually getting better. However, I cannot confirm today that he will play in the first match. All I can say is that we hope he will play in this match," had said Leheta.
