Portugal will play against Iran tonight at the Mordovia Area for the Group B match. It’s a must-win game for both teams at the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Ahead of the important game, many fans of Cristiano Ronaldo of Iranian origin gathered outside his hotel room. The fans cheered and hooted so loudly that the noise made it difficult for players to sleep.

A little while later, appeared a silhouette in the window. And it was none other than the Portugal legend Cristiano Ronaldo who requested the fans to keep their volumes low as the players were trying to sleep. The fan obviously adhered to the Portugal forward’s request and Ronaldo too thanked the fans with a thumbs-up.  The video was shared by a few fans on social media. Watch the video.

A few Iranian fans on social media apologized for the inconvenience created to the players. Check out a few tweets below.

“As an Iranian, I feel really sorry about that :( Hope we'll see a fair and beautiful game tomorrow,” read a tweet.

“I feel sorry for being Iranian .. Sorry Cris, I hope you score 6 goals tonight (I.e.(I.e.viva Portugal,” wrote another user.

“We Iranians are not support this behaviors. Sorry about that. We say our word on football stadium with fair play,” read another tweet.

“As an Iranian I feel shame, sorry!,” read a tweet.

Ronaldo has so far scored 4 goals in the 2018 FIFA World Cup. The last time Portugal came head-to-head with Iran in 2006 World Cup, the former won the match by 2-0. Portugal won their last match in the 2018 FIFA World Cup against Morocco by 1-0.
