Argentina’s Lionel Messi has not had a great start to the 2018 FIFA World Cup so far. The Barcelona forward missed an important penalty in the opening game against Iceland a few days ago. As a result, the match ended up with a draw by 1-1. The Argentina captain was trolled mercilessly by Twitterati with funny memes and nasty comments. But his wife Antonella has shown her unconditional support for her husband as the team prepares for a crucial tie against Croatia.

Antonella took to social media handle and posted a picture of herself with Messi and their three children - Thiago, 5, Mateo, 2, and Ciro, 3 months. The family was all smiles as they posed for a picture. The snap was captioned, “ Always together and with you more than ever."

Post the match, Messi broke his silence on the missed penalty and said he was obviously hurt with the miss. “It would have changed the script. It was the advantage,” he said. “Obviously it hurts me to have missed the penalty. They would have opened a little more and we could have found more spaces. We have the bitterness of not being able to take the three points that we deserved. To start with winning is always important, now we have to think about Croatia. We will try to pass this quickly,” he said.

Currently, team Argentina is placed on number 3 of the Group D Points table with one point in their kitty. Whereas as Croatia are table toppers with 3 points. The match between Argentina and Croatia is scheduled to happen tomorrow at the Nizhny Novgorod Stadium, 11.30 PM IST.
