Indian sprinter Dutee Chand wins the silver medal in women's 100m at Jakarta Palembang 2018 Asian Games on Sunday. She took 11.32 seconds to finish second in the race, two seconds behind gold medal winner Edidiong Odiong of Bahrain who completed the race in 11.30 seconds. China's Yongli Wei bagged bronze medal after clocking 11.33 seconds. With Dutee Chand's silver medal, India's medal count increases to 36 including 7 gold, 10 silver and 19 bronze. Kazakhstani olympic athlete Olga Safronova completed race in 11.42 seconds and Bahraini sprinter Hajar Alkhaldi with 11.43 seconds were ahead of Dutee in the semi-finals. During the qualification stage, Dutee won her 100m heat in 11.38seconds beating Olga Safronova of Kazakhstan and Nigina Sharipova of Uzbekistan. Earlier, India's Muhammed Anas and Hima Das claimed the silver medals in the men's and women's 400 metres races respectively at the 18th Asian Games here on Sunday. Reigning Asian champion Anas completed the race in 45.69 seconds to be second, while Hima clocked a national record mark of 50.79 seconds to take the second place in the women's race.
