Not many people know, but Dipa Karmakar is one of the only five women who has successfully landed the Produnova – the most difficult Vault in women’s gymnastics.
Dipa Karmakar, on January 22, had a moment to remember which every fan dreams, to have 'Master Blaster' Sachin Tendulkar launch her autobiography. Titled ‘Dipa Karmakar – The Small Wonder’, the book talks about her life journey and her meteoric rise in Indian sports. Not to forget, Karmakar is the first Indian female gymnast to have won a medal in the history of the Commonwealth Games.
Bharat Ratna Sachin Tendulkar was present at the book launch ceremony. Also attending the grand event were Dipa Karmakar herself, and the authors – Bishweshwar Nandi, Digvijay Singh Deo, and Vimal Mohan – of the book – which is already one of the bestsellers in its category. One of the authors of the book, Digvijay Singh Deo took to the microblogging site Twitter, and posted a selfie with Sachin Tendulkar and Dipa Karmakar. Deo wrote, “Let’s break the internet. The mandatory selfie. Privileged to have @sachin_rt agree to do this. @DipaKarmakar @Vimalsports @FingerprintP.”

Dipa Karmakar, India’s star gymnast, took to her Twitter account, earlier in the day, announcing about her ‘fan moment’. Karmakar wrote, “All set for a long but exciting day!! Delighted to announce that my idol Bharat Ratna @sachintendulkar is launching my autobiography The Small Wonder today.”
