The ball-tampering incident is something that David Warner and his family would want to erase from their memories. The ball-tampering occurrence has far-fetched effects not only on David Warner but also his wife Candice. In an interview, Warner’s wife revealed that she and her husband David were supposed to welcome their third child, but she suffered a miscarriage.

“I hoped the terrible stuff was behind us. We love Cape Town and it's where Dave proposed to me in 2014. I was beginning to feel that first stage of being pregnant - the subtle changes to my body were kicking in. We were overwhelmed, knowing another little Warner was on the way. I don't think either of us realised how much we longed for this baby. We had been trying since last July and I did a Test when we first got to Cape Town,” she said.

David Warner was handed over one year ban and Cricket Australia had mentioned that he might not play for the team. This took a toll on the family. "I called Dave to the bathroom and told him I was bleeding. We knew I was miscarrying. We held one another and cried... The miscarriage was a heartbreaking end to a horror tour. The ordeal from the public humiliations to the ball tapering had taken its toll," she further added.

Warner had broken down during a press conference and asked for forgiveness as an emotional Candice watched from the back of the room. "I feel like it's all my fault and it's killing me -- it's absolutely killing me," Candice Warner was earlier quoted by Sydney's Sunday Telegraph.
