New Delhi Apr. 01: South Africa pacer Dale Steyn on Sunday revealed his Test comeback plan, and said that he is targeting a stint with English county Hampshire in June as his return to competitive cricket.

Steyn confirmed that there was a "possibility" of him joining Hampshire in June, although he is also looking at other options, Espncricinfo.com reported.

Hampshire have already signed Hashim Amla for the first three months of the season, and have two South African Kolpak signees - Kyle Abbott and Rilee Rossouw, on their books.

Steyn, who was awarded a new national contract by the South African board recently, has committed himself to returning to international cricket.

However, he has only played one Test match since November 2016, when he broke a bone in his shoulder at the WACA.Steyn made a Test return during the match against India in Newlands, Cape Town in January.

He bowled just 17.3 overs before leaving the field with a heel injury.

Steyn was due to play for the Titans in the first-class competition in March and also targeted the final round of franchise matches, beginning March 22, to test his fitness.

However, he eventually pulled out of the fixtures. Steyn is just two wickets short of Shaun Pollock's South African Test record of 421 wickets. He is likely to have another chance to break the record when South Africa tour Sri Lanka in July and August.

As of now, Dale Steyn is spotted indulging into many outdoor activities like fishing, sea surfing and much more. The pacer keeps on posting pictures of his activities on his Instagram account and keeps his fans updated. However, coming back to the news, we are sure that his fans are keen on watching him bowl once again.
