Czech tennis ace Karolina Pliskova could possibly face a suspension for smashing the umpire chair Marta Mrozinska with her racquet after a heated argument at the Italian Open. So here’s what happened. At 5-5- 5 in the third set, her smash was called out. Karolina got into a heated argument with Marta post this. The umpire acknowledged that she lost the ball mark and even replays showed that Karolina was right but by then it was too late and the original decision had to be retained. Her Greek opponent Maria Sakkari converted the break and won the match.
Karolina got into a lengthy argument with Marta and towards the end of the match did not shake hands with her. Instead, the tennis ace smashed the umpire’s chair with her racquet several times. The video of Karolina denting the chair went viral.
Karolina’s twin sister Kristyna world no 71 also was angry about the poor umpiring and slammed Marta on Twitter. “The worst i have ever seen @wta and i hope this lady Marta Mrozinska will never ever judge any match of me or Karolina again #blacklistforever,” wrote Kristyna.

However, this Karolina’s actions evoked a few negative reactions on Twitter. A netizen said, “The worst? Lol okay 🙄 you’re reaching 😂😂 there have been calls worse than this... Serena, 2004 US Open is the worst. Serena still shook her hand lol. I know she’s your sister, but this is clay and she was dramatic and you’re unknown lol.”

"You should be ashamed of yourself. And your sister. And your sister should be fined and preferable banned from a tournament for her abhorrent behavior. This was the worst sportsmanship on ever seen on @wta tour," read a tweet.

"OK, no. Throwing the umpire's name around and crucifying her is wrong. It was a bad call. But officials are not machines. They try the best they can and don't set out to wrong anyone. Errors happen. This is too much," read another post.
