Defending champion Jarvis eventually finished with the silver after defeating Tayab Raza. He claimed that Sumit not only bit him but poked in the eye as well. “He poked me in the eye and then he bit me. It feels like groundhog day. I was winning in the last few seconds in Delhi and lost the gold medal -- basically, the same thing happened today,” Jarvis said.

Sumit won the gold in men’s 125kg freestyle class after Nigeria’s Sinivie Boltic had to forfeit following his injury.

Meanwhile, India finished third with 66 medals at the CWG 2018. India bagged 26 gold, 20 silver, and as many bronze medals. Australia ended with 198 medals followed by England (136 medals).
