On day five of the Commonwealth Games 2018 or CWG 2018 at Gold Coast in Australia, Indian athletes made the country proud by collecting impressive seven medals, which included three gold, two silver and as many bronze medals. With it, India now stands third on the CWG 2018 medals tally. India has 10 gold, four silver and five bronze medals in its kitty and are behind hosts Australia and England. Jitu Rai, Men's Table Tennis team and Badminton team bagged gold medals on offer on day five. The country will be hoping a similar performance from sportspersons on day six of CWG 2018.

Shooter Jitu Rai bagged the gold in 10m air pistol and then Men's Table Tennis team outplayed Nigeria in the finals to make it better. Apart from it, Om Mitharwal won bronze in men's 10m air pistol final. Also in Shooting, women's 10m air rifle final, Mehuli Ghosh brought home silver while Apurvi Chandela settled for bronze. In Weightlifting India’s lone medal of the day came in men's 105kg final in which Pardeep Singh bagged silver. On day six, India will be hoping for more success in Shooting and other events. On Day 6, all eyes will be on Muhammed Anas Yahiya who will be seen in action in the final of 400m. Apart from him, prominent shooters Gagan Narang and Heena Sidhu will be in action as well. Badminton singles and doubles preliminary is also scheduled for day of CWG 2018. In hockey, men’s team will take on Malaysia while women’s team will square off against South Africa.
