Gagan Singh and Chain Singh finished third and sixth in 50m Rifle Prone Men's Qualification taking place on early Tuesday morning. While Gagan with 617.0 points finished behind Australian James Daly (620.5 points) and New Zealand’s Ryan Taylor (619.4 points), Chain Singh scored 614.2 points to book his place in eight-man finals taking place in some time. Their match will be held at 8:30 am IST.

It is ace shooter Heena Sidhu and Annu Singh who is India’s medal hopes in the famed category. In the qualifications round, it was 34-year-old Annu Singh who topped with a total of 293-7x while Heena Sidhu narrowly made it to the finals by finishing seventh out of eight places with a total 286-9x. Sidhu who earlier on the fifth day had won a silver medal in women’s 10m air pistol had come back strongly in qualifications, something Indian fans would hope from the ace shooter again on Tuesday.
