So far in the IPL 2018, Sunrisers Hyderabad was known for being one of the best bowling sides in the season. But since the last match, the bowling lineup of team SRH has gotten exposed as the bowlers are being hit all over the park. Today, at the Maharashtra Cricket Association, Pune the host CSK ripped the bowling lineup of the guests. After SRH posted a total of 179 runs, CSK openers Ambati Rayudu and Shane Watson got on to a hitting spree and started hitting the bowlers all over the park. It was only at the 13th over that Chennai Super Kings lost their first wicket in the form of Shane Watson on 57, with Suresh Raina too following him to the pavilion on the score of 2. Soon skipper Dhoni was on the field to finish the business. Dhoni supported Rayudu and made sure that the latter got his 100. Skipper Dhoni remained unbeaten on 20 runs off 14 balls, whereas Rayudu’s 100 came from 62 balls. His inning comprised 7 fours and 7 sixes. (Full scorecard)
Talking about SRH’s batting, the team lost Alex Hales quite early in the game and it was duo Shikhar Dhawan and Captain Kane Williamson brought up a partnership of 123 runs. Manish Pandey without entering the double-digit score was already on his way to the pavilion but had a 19 runs partnership with Deepak Hooda. After Manish, Shakib Al Hasan and Hoods chipped in another 19 runs to the team helping SRH post a total of 179. With this, CSK remains on number 2 of the IPL 2018 Points Table despite an 8 wicket victory.
After the match, Dhoni was all praises for Man of the Match Rayudu and said, “Even before IPL started I had to make space for Rayudu because he is somebody I rate him very highly. He can play both the fast bowlers and spinners very well. He almost clears the field every time he plays the big shot.”
