During India vs Pakistan Asia Cup 2018 match, the 28-year-old on seeing Pakistani cricketer Usman Khan having troubles with his shoelace went ahead and tied it like it was no big deal. However, his little gesture has won the hearts of netizens from both nations. The incident took place in the 43rd over of the first innings when Pakistan’s batsman Usman Khan and Mohammad Amir were at the crease. Pakistan were struggling at 162-9 and the last pair was trying to amass as many runs as possible. On the fourth delivery of the over, Usman ran hard to snatch a quick single but struggled with an open shoelace. A similar incident had taken place during India vs Pakistan women’s cricket when Pakistan player Anam Amin tied shoelace of Indian batswoman Harpreet Kaur. It had taken place at Firoz Shah Kotla stadium in New Delhi during the ICC Women's World T20 Championships in 2016. The picture had gone viral and is in fact shared once again on the Twitter.

On Wednesday, India defeated Pakistan by eight wickets. Sarfraz Ahmed-led side were wrapped to 162 under 50 overs after Indian pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar led the bowling attack. The much-hyped meeting in 15 months turned out to be a lop-sided affair for India with stand-in-skipper Rohit Sharma in the company of Shikhar Dhawan, Ambati Rayudu and Dinesh Karthik chased down the low target easily to register a comprehensive victory. India and Pakistan have both made to the Super 4 stage of Asia Cup 2018 and is scheduled to next meet on September 23.
