Not only did Chahal registered his career-best figures in an ODI in the series decider, but also went to bec0me the joint-highest wicket taking bowler in an ODI Down Under.
After replacing Kuldeep Yadav in the side for the final ODI, Yuzvendra Chahal made an impact in the game immediately. The lanky leggie took three wickets in his first spell and derailed any chances of a comeback for the Australian team.
With the potential match-winning figures, Chahal joined former Indian bowler Ajit Agarkar on the top, in the list of most wicket taking bowlers in an ODI in Australia. Agarkar had taken six wickets at the same venue 15 years ago. However, the performance couldn’t help India register a victory as they lost it by 18 runs eventually.
