Out of favour middle-order batsman, Yuvraj Singh will feature in Punjab’s next three Ranji Trophy 2018-19 matches. Punjab has thus far played two matches in the ongoing domestic tournament, but Yuvraj was not part of the team. The left-handed batsman will now play against Delhi at Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in New Delhi from November 28 onwards.
Yuvraj was among the players released by Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 auction. Yuvraj has been struggling with form and thus is not being considered for the Indian team as well. The left-hander will be looking to perform his best to catch the attention once again. After Delhi, Yuvraj reportedly will play against Himachal Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. All these three matches will take place ahead of the IPL 2019 auction scheduled on December 18. The World Cup-winning batsman will have his eyes set on the auction.
The 36-year-old recently featured in the Vijay Hazare trophy and scored 264 runs in seven innings. He was, however, not considered for the Deodhar Trophy. He had a poor IPL season last year. Chances are given his struggle, Yuvraj might not find any takers in the upcoming IPL auction.
Meanwhile, Punjab will be looking for their first win of the season. Earlier, against Andhra and Madhya Pradesh Punjab’s matches ended in a draw.
