Yuvraj Singh got nostalgic and shared an old picture with Rahul Dravid and Vijay Dahiya on Instagram. The picture was clicked 19 years ago when a young Yuvraj Singh was selected in the Indian team for the first time. The occasion was the ICC Champions Trophy 2000 and the venue was Kenya. Playing for India is every cricketer's dream. Thus, the first tour is special indeed. In the picture, Yuvraj Singh is seen posing with Rahul Dravid and Vijay Dahiya who were all dressed in formal attire. In the mega-tournament, Dravid was India’s batting mainstay and Vijay Dahiya was the wicket-keeper.
“Major throwback to getting selected for the first time to play for team India. #proudmoment #pricelessmemory” said the picture posted on the social media website. The caption clearly depicted the emotions of Yuvraj Singh who bid adieu to international cricket just a few months ago. The memories of the southpaw’s first assignment in Indian jersey is also special because the batsman made his debut in grand style and scored 84 runs in his first international innings. Also, the knock was played against the mighty Australian bowling line-up. The left-handed batsman guided the Men in Blue to 265 in the first innings and later won the match by 20 runs.

After his scintillating debut, Yuvraj played many more incredible innings and guided India to several victories. The batsman also played a vital role in guiding India to the title in ICC World T20 2007 and ICC Cricket World Cup 2011. Unfortunately, the Indian star was diagnosed with a form of lung cancer and his international career was paused. However, the veteran made comeback like a warrior and stepped on the cricket field after beating the ailment. Yuvraj played his last international match in July 2017 and finally announced retirement on June 10, 2019.
