Pakistan’s leg-spinner Yasir Shah bamboozled New Zealand with his quality bowling in the second Test at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Yasir scalped career-best 8/41 as Pakistan bundled out New Zealand for just 90 runs. In 12.3 overs Yasir made sure that Pakistan enforces a follow-on. Meanwhile, Yasir’s 8/41 are now the third best figures by a Pakistani bowler in Test cricket, he surpassed former captain Imran Khan on the list which is topped by Abdul Qadir (9/56) and Sarfraz Nawaz (9/86). Yasir now also holds the best Test figures by any bowler against New Zealand. Responding to Pakistan’s 418 for five, Kiwis were nicely placed after openers Jeet Raval and Tom Latham shared 50-run opening stand. New Zealand were further dented when BJ Watling was run-out and Colin de Grandhomme was trapped in front of the wickets by Hasan Ali. These two strikes left Kiwis reeling at 69 for six. Yasir then removed remaining four New Zealand batsmen to hand Pakistan a massive first-innings lead of 328 runs.

A total of six New Zealand batsmen were dismissed for a duck while skipper Kane Williamson finished unbeaten on 28. Opener Raval was the top-scorer for his side with 31 runs. Pakistan eventually enforced the follow-on. Earlier, riding on centuries by Haris Sohail and Babar Azam, Pakistan scored 418 for five in their first innings.
