The tall-lanky bowler attempted a catch reminiscent of Suryakumar Yadav's jumping effort from the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 but Woakes' attempt went in vain as his foot for a fraction of a second hit the boundary line deeming Agha not out. Luckily for Agha, the shot off Jack Leach was called six, following which the batter did not look back.

Why Was Salman Agha Given 'Not Out' By Third Umpire Despite Chris Woakes' Catch?

While Woakes claimed the catch, the decision was touch-and-go for the on-field umpires, thus the TV or third umpire came in contention. Upon replay, the umpire found Woakes' foot to be touching the boundary rope. Salman Agha however made the most of that opportunity and went on to smash a century, his third in Test cricket. He helped the Pakistan national cricket team score 556 runs in the first innings. Earlier, captain Shan Masood and Abdullah Shafique also scored centuries.  Interestingly, this is also the third time that any time in the red-ball format has crossed the 500-run mark against England in this new Bazzball Era under coach Brendon McCullum and Test skipper Ben Stokes.
