India take on Pakistan in a much-anticipated match at the Asia Cup 2022 in Dubai on Sunday, August 28 and they would be without one of their leading bowlers in Jasprit Bumrah. The right-arm pace sensation has been a regular in India's bowling attack across formats and has established himself as a deadly customer, especially when it comes to nailing those yorkers. While there are uncertainties around what India's playing XI for this match might look like, one question can arise and that is--where is Jasprit Bumrah and why is he not playing the match? Asia Cup 2022: Dale Steyn Shares Special Message For Virat Kohli on Latter's 100th T20I Appearance Ahead of IND vs PAK Match

The paceman was ruled out of the Asia Cup 2022 tournament earlier after he suffered a back injury. It is no secret that the 28-year-old has had his struggles with back spasms. His last international match was against England back in the second ODI of the series, at Lord's. The Indian selection committee has decided to not involve him in the Asia Cup so that he can recuperate and be ready when India travel to Australia for the T20 World Cup, slated to be held later this year. Having said that, it is unfortunate that India would be without his services in the Asia Cup, especially against a side like Pakistan against whom one has to be at their absolute best.

The Indian bowling attack, in Bumrah's absence, will be led by Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who is the team's most experienced fast bowler. The right-arm bowler has the ability to swing the ball early on in the innings and cause trouble for batters in the opening overs. Barring him, India also have Avesh Khan and Arshdeep Singh, one of whom can feature in India's XI against Pakistan.
