USA is all set to jointly host the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 alongside West Indies. Why is Corey Anderon Playing For USA in International Cricket?

Anderson quit New Zealand cricket in 2020 and moved to USA, which is an associate member of the ICC, as an immigrant and played league cricket waiting to clear the ICC eligibility criteria.  Corey Anderon's wife Mary Margaret is from Dallas, Texas. She helped Anderson made the move from Auckland to Dallas in 2020.

ICC rules state: 'Where a male Player is seeking to qualify to play for an Associate or Affiliate Member, he must not have participated in an International Match for any other National Cricket Federation (irrespective of its membership status) during the immediately preceding four years.'

In 2023, Anderson became eligible to represent the United States in international cricket.  Earlier, Anderson signed a three-year deal with Major League Cricket in the USA. and played for San Francisco Unions in MLC. IIn March 2024, he was named in the American side for their home series against Canada.
