Why Did Indian Cricket Team Bring Back Fake T20 World Cup 2024 Trophy?
The Indian cricket team returned home with a fake T20 World Cup 2024 trophy from Barbados instead of the real one. This is because the ICC only allows the winning team of a particular tournament to have the trophy for post-match celebrations and a photo shoot. The real trophy is taken by the ICC to be kept in the headquarters.
The replica trophy however, does contain the tournament's official logo. After the celebrations were done, Rohit Sharma visited the BCCI headquarters and kept the replica T20 World Cup 2024 trophy as part of the latest addition to the list of ICC titles won by the Indian cricket team so far.
