Ben Stokes turned as the most expensive player in the Indian Premier League 2020 auction, however, the latter didn't have much successful stint in the cash-rich league and was also troubled due to injuries. Stokes was picked up Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2023 for a whopping price of over INR 16 crore, though he managed to play only two to three games as he was struggling with his knee. Stokes didn't participate in the IPL 2024 auction as he wanted to focus more on international cricket and his fitness. While Stokes has not registered for the IPL 2025 mega auction, he will now not have the chance to register for IPL 2026 auction as well. Why Ben Stokes Cannot Register for IPL 2026 Auction?
As per the Indian Premier League auction rules, any player who hasn't registered for the auction willn't be eligible to register for next year's players auction. Hence, as Ben Stokes didn't register for Indian Premier League 2025 auction, he willn't be eligible for IPL 2026 auction. However, if Stokes would have registered for the auction and later opted out, then he would have faced a ban from the BCCI.
