Popstar Rihanna created a lot of buzz when she came to support the West Indies cricket team against Sri Lanka at Chester-le-street. The Pop Icon was seen dressed in an all-white outfit, cheering for her cricket team from the stands of Durham Cricket Ground. Hailing from Barbados, Rihanna is a childhood friend and a schoolmate of all-rounder Carlos Brathwaite. Although, the match didn't go in favour of the men in maroon despite going down to the wire, post-match, many Carribean players like Chris Gayle and Carlos Brathwaite met the pop star. Gayle, fondly known as Universe Boss, also gifted the "Diamond" hitmaker a signed cricket bat as a token of his appreciation.
Even the official Twitter handle of ICC Cricket World Cups posted a 22-second-long video of Rihanna meeting Gayle.

However, Rihanna's presence wasn't enough to guide West Indies over the line as the two-time world cup winners felt short of the target by 23 runs despite a ton from Nicholas Pooran. West Indies had a poor world cup campaign with just one win from eight games. They will play their last league match Afghanistan at Leeds and it will be interesting to see whether the singing sensation will make their appearance once again or not.
