The rain gods have not been too kind to the fans with an India vs Pakistan match in Asia Cup 2023 being washed out for the second time in the tournament. The saving grace however, is the fact that this time, there is a reserve day in store which means fans will get to witness some high-quality cricketing action on September 11 as well. India, unlike the last match, had a solid start with the bat in hand as both Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill took the Pakistan bowlers to the cleaners and it was not until the 16th over that the Green Shirts finally had some success when Shadab Khan broke the 121-run opening partnership, dismissing captain Rohit Sharma (56). Gill (58) too soon followed his captain back to the pavilion after falling prey to a Shaheen Afridi slow ball. Fans would now look forward to watching how Virat Kohli (8*) and KL Rahul (17*) continue on the reserve day.  Indian Cricket Team to Play Continuously for Three Days After Rain Forces IND vs PAK Asia Cup 2023 Super Four Match to Reserve Day, Fans React.

Unfortunately, though, the forecast for the reserve day does not look too promising either with the Sri Lankan Met Department forecast 'fairly heavy showers' in the western part of the country where the capital city of Colombo is located. Having a reserve day does not automatically ensure that there will be a result this time around in the India vs Pakistan match.

So what happens if the India vs Pakistan reserve day is washed out too?

Well, in that case, the match would have to be called off, just like it happened in the group stage of this competition. Both India and Pakistan would be awarded a point each if that happens. With this, Pakistan would remain in the top spot on the Super Four standings with three points while India would open their account with 1 point. There remains a chance for such an outcome as similar weather is predicted for September 12 as well.
