Windies fast-bowler Sheldon Cottrell during the third and final One-Day International (ODI) against Bangladesh dished out what could possibly be regarded as the worst delivery of all time. The left-arm pacer while opening the bowling bowled a wide delivery which directly went towards the second slip. Ashley Nurse collected the ball after moving towards his left. The umpire apparently called it a no-ball as it was out of batsman’s reach.

The 28-year-old bowler’s delivery left everyone perplexed including the commentators. “Goodness me. I have not seen this before,” said commentator Athar Ali Khan. “Luckily no one was in danger, second slip had to take a simple catch,” added another commentator Daren Ganga.

Cottrell following the embarrassing incident apologised to teammates and returned to his bowling mark. This certainly was not the first time a bowler landed a delivery straight into the slips cordon. However, it was one of those weirdest deliveries ever bowled.

Cottrell eventually didn’t have the great outing against Bangladesh as he conceded 59 runs in nine overs. He though managed to pick a wicket as well but towards the end of the innings. The hosts lost the decisive final ODI and were handed a 1-2 series defeat by Bangladesh. Meanwhile, the left arm pacer has been included in the Windies squad for the three-match T20I series against Bangladesh, which starts on August 01 (IST) in St Kitts.
