The hitman Rohit Sharma gave a good start to MI inning at Bengaluru on Thursday,  where his first four scoring shots were boundaries. MI score was 37/0 in 4.5 overs, RCB pacer Siraj delivered a loose overpitched final ball. This ball was smashed for a boundary by MI captain, which even went through the dive made by AB de Villiers fielding at mid-off. Rohit Sharma was dismissed in the 11th over by RCB ace bowler Umesh Yadav by giving the catch to Mohammed Siraj. Good short cameos in the end by Yuvraj Singh and Hardik Pandya helped Mumbai post a total of 187.

RCB in reply made 181 to lose the match by 6 runs. From Royal Challengers Bangalore their skipper Kohli and South African batsman de Villiers played a good knock, where the latter took the match down to the wire.

One more controversy was added in IPL diaries during this match between RCB vs MI after the umpire failed to declare a no-ball bowled by MI bowler Lasith Malinga in the last ball of RCB inning.  Had it been declared on time when RCB needed 7 off the last ball, it could have helped RCB win this game.
