Ahead of the Indian Premier League 2018 (IPL 2018), Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni has joined the team’s practice session. Dhoni was seen playing some big shots during CSK’s nets session at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Super Kings along with Rajasthan Royals (RR) will return to IPL after facing a two-year suspension in the spot-fixing case. Ahead of the 11th season, CSK retained Dhoni apart from Suresh Raina and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja. At the IPL 2018 auction, the Super Kings bought back players like Dwayne Bravo and Faf du Plessis.

Meanwhile, the team’s preparation for IPL 2018 is on in full swing as they look to clinch their third title. The IPL 2018 kicks off on April 07, with defending champions Mumbai Indians taking on CSK at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. CSK then play their first home game of the season against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on April 10.

A big hit!

A delicate one as well!

During CSK's suspension, Dhoni played for Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS). MSD captained the team during the first year. However, last year he was removed as RPS captain and Australia’s Steven Smith was handed the captaincy.

Coming back to IPL 2018, CSK’s squad boasts of some other experienced names like Shane Watson, Imran Tahir, and Mitchell Santner. CSK, however, let go spinner Ravi Ashwin. But managed to snap experienced campaigner Harbhajan Singh along with Karn Sharma. The CSK squad for IPL 2018 also features Kedar Jadhav, Shardul Thakur, Ambati Rayudu and Murali Vijay to name a few.

Right from the inaugural season, MS Dhoni has captained Super Kings. He led the team to two back to back IPL titles in 2010 and 2011 and also under Dhoni’s leadership, CSK won two Champions League T20 trophies.
