Wasim Jaffer’s Double Century Against Uttarakhand Helps Him Achieve a Rare Feat During Ranji Trophy 2018-19 Quarter-Finals (Watch Video Highlights)

Wasim Jaffer is surely an epitome of the adage, “Age is just a number.” The 40-year-old who represents Vidarbha in the Ranji Trophy 2018-19 is in the best of his form and has been the second-highest scorer of this season. The Vidarbha opener went on to smash 206 runs from 296 balls slamming 29 fours in his innings on the third day of Vidarbha vs Uttarakhand. The match was held at Nagpur. This is his first double knock in the current season and with this, he achieved a rare feat. Wasim Jaffer Becomes First Indian to Touch 11,000-run Milestone in Ranji Trophy 2018-19.

Jaffer became the first Indian and Asian batsman to score a couple of double tons after turning 40. It as Sanjay Ramaswamy from the team who supported the opener and went on to score 141 runs. The two stitched 304 runs and gave the team a massive lead to the team. The team declared their innings on the score of 599 runs. After the departure of Wasim Jaffer, wicket-keeper Akshay Wadkar added 98 runs and Aditya Sarvate remained not out on the score of 57 runs. The two continued to frustrate the opposition bowlers. After the match, Wasim Jaffer spoke to Indian Express and said, “When you score runs, you get respect. Else it’s not there). I know this because I have seen teams were reluctant to have me. The moment you flop in three innings, same people will say that age has caught up, umar hogayi hai. It’s only runs that count.” In return, team Uttarkhand got bundled out on 355 runs and Vidharbha have a massive lead of 213 runs.
