India beat England by 203 in the third Test match at Trent Bridge in Nottingham. India captain Virat Kohli was adjudged as ‘Player of the Match’ for his batting performances, i.e. 97 and 103 in both innings respectively. During the presentation ceremony, skipper Kohli dedicated this victory to the Kerala flood victims.

While receiving the Player of the Match award, Kohli said, “First and foremost, we as a team want to dedicate the victory to the flood victims back home in Kerala. People are going through a lot, and this is the least we can do.”

Here’s What BCCI Tweeted As Kohli Dedicated the Victory to Kerala Flood Victims:

Talking about India’s performance in the third Test match, Virat Kohli said, “Very pleasing performance in all three departments. A complete Test match for us. We only spoke about the fact that we were only outplayed in one Test out of the five we had played since South Africa, and that was at Lord's. We spoke about stepping up as batsmen, and that's what we did, and we set it up for the bowlers.”

The captain was all praise for Cheteshwar Pujara and Vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane. He heaped praises on how great an impact both the players has on the game.

Speaking about the sparkling bowling performances in the match, Kohli said, “The bowling group was eager to take those 20 wickets again - the question was what we could do as batsmen to give them that cushion. The most pleasing thing for me to see was that the four fastest bowlers in the series have all been Indians. We've worked on our fitness, on our mindset, cutting down on loose deliveries.”

The five-match Test series stands at 2-1 now, with India trailing. The fourth test match of the series will be played at The Rose Bowl in Southampton, starting August 30. Will India be able to level the series with a win, or will England take an unassailable lead in the series, is for time to tell! Let us know your views in the comments sections below.
