This would not be the first time in 2024 that VVS Laxman is stepping in as India's head coach. Earlier this year, the former Indian cricketer was the head coach when the Shubman Gill-led side had toured Zimbabwe for a five-match T20I series. The report also adds that VVS Laxman will have the likes of Hrishikesh Kanitkar, Sairaj Bahutule and Subhadeep Ghosh as part of his support staff in South Africa. Vijaykumar Vyshak's Story: Vijaykumar Vyshak's Story: From Being Overweight To Earning India Call-Up For the T20I Series Against South Africa.

The upcoming T20I series will see the India national cricket team face the South Africa national cricket team in the shortest format since the T20 World Cup 2024 final where the Men in Blue edged past the Proteas in what was a massively thrilling contest in Barbados. South Africa will be led by Aiden Markram and they will aim at gaining some redemption for that defeat in June this year.
