Hyderabad, March 31: The Sunsrisers Hyderabad Team has replaced the banned Australian batsman David Warner by including England batsman Alex Hales in the squad. The right-handed opening batsman, who is also the only English batsman to have scored a T20I hundred, will join the Hyderabad Team also known as the "Orange Army". The BCCI release informed that the batsman was acquired for the base price of Rs 1 crore from the Registered and Available Player Pool (RAAP) resource.

David Warner, who is serving a one-year ban from Cricket after he was found to be the mastermind behind the ball tampering row in third test against South Africa, was not only Hyderabad's batting mainstay but also captained the side. Warner's loss is a huge setback for Hyderabad Sunrisers as he had been instrumental in getting them quick starts and even led the team to title victory in the 2016 edition.

Earlier in the day, David Warner "apologised unreservedly" for his role in the ball tampering scandal and said that he took full responsibilty for his role in the incident. The opening batsman even acknowledged that he knows he may never get to play for his country again. Coming to his replacement, Alex Hales is an explosive batsman who  has wide range of shorts and also opens the innings. Recently, Alex Hales had scored 46 for the Islamabad United in a match against the Multan Sultans in the PSL.

Kane Williamson was named the captain of the side after it became clear that David Warner will not be playing in this year's  IPL. How does Hyderabad team deal with the loss of David Warner and will Alex Hales be able to provide the quick starts at the top of the innings will be the foremost question for fans in this season of the Vivo Indian Premier League 2018.
