On day 2 of the Sydney Test, it was Rishabh Pant along with Cheteshwar Pujara who stole the limelight for his unbeaten knock of 159 runs. The wicket-keeper became first batsmen to have scored 159 runs in Australia in a Test match. With this inning, Pant went on to break a plethora of records. After Pant scored 159 runs, former cricket Virender Sehwag took a jibe at Australian captain Tim Paine who had asked the Indian wicket-keeper to babysit his kids, while he was away for a movie with his wife. The wicket-keeper batsman faced 189 balls hitting 15 fours and one six and remained unbeaten in the first innings. Sehwag took to social media and praised Pant for the terrific innings. “Pantastic ! Even VVS Laxman, hailed the youngster for his innings. “After Pujara’s brilliant 193, Rishabh Pant has assured that India put the game firmly out of Australia’s grip. Very impressed by his temperament today and congratulations to him on his 2nd overseas 100, 1 in Eng and now 1 in Aus, only the 2nd wk after Jeff Dujjon to do so,” tweeted the former cricketer.

A while ago we told you, that the Indian fans present at the Sydney Cricket Ground cheered for Pant with a special chant. The fans were heard singing, “We've got Pant... Rishab Pant... I just don't think you'll understand... He'll hit you for a six... He'll babysit your kids... We've got Rishab Pant.” Talking about the match, India declared the innings after scoring a mammoth of 622 runs. Ravindra Jadeja also scored 81 runs after facing 114 balls.
