India suffered a shambolic defeat against England in the second Test at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground. Indian batsmen had a horrid time in both the innings and the team even failed to go past the 150-run mark. In the first innings, the visitors were bundled out for just 107 runs with James Anderson scalping five wickets. In the second innings, after England declared on 396 for seven, India were bowled out for 130 with Anderson and Stuart Broad picked four wickets each.

As a result, team India lost the second Test by an innings and 159 runs. It was one of the worst performances by the Indian cricket team in recent times. Meanwhile, Indian captain Kohli posted a message for fans after the team’s failure at Lord’s. Kohli vowed to never give up. “Sometimes we win and other times we learn. You never give up on us and we promise to never give up on you either. Onwards and upwards,” Kohli wrote on Facebook.

After the defeat, Kohli had said that he was not proud of how the team played and admitted that they were outplayed. “Not proud of the way we've played. First time in the last five Tests that we've been outplayed. We deserved to lose this game, the way we went about things. "You can't sit and crib about these things. Sometimes the rub of the green won't go your way. Even when the ball's doing a bit, you have to pitch it in the right areas. Their guys were relentless, they made us work for the runs,” Kohli said during the post-match presentation.
