Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli scored his 25th Test century in Perth. The right-handed batsman reached the milestone with a boundary off Mitchell Starc on day three morning. On a lively Perth wicket, Kohli stood tall against the Australian pace attack. The Indian skipper resumed on an overnight score on 82 and made sure he reaches the three-figure mark. After completing his century, Kohli celebrated it with a toned-down celebration and not the usual loud and thumping one. The skipper gestured, “let my bat do the talking” towards the dressing room. It definitely was for Kohli’s critics.
After India lost openers KL Rahul and Murali Vijay early on day two, Kohli formed a valuable 74-run partnership with Cheteshwar Pujara. After that, Kohli and Rahane took the visitors forward and added 91 runs for the fourth wicket. Rahane, however, was dismissed in the first over on day three. Kohli has been in prolific form and this is now his fourth overseas Test century this year. Meanwhile, at the time of writing this story, Kohli was going strong along with Rishabh Pant.
