Virat Kohli’s Favourite Cricketer Was Herschelle Gibbs NOT Sachin Tendulkar, So by His Own Logic Indian Captain Should Leave India!
“Those who prefer English and Australian batsmen should not live in India,” Virat Kohli said.
Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli has stirred a controversy by suggesting “those who prefer English and Australian batsmen should not live in India”. Kohli was responding to a “mean” comment by a fan who felt the Indian skipper is an over-rated batsman. “Over-rated batsman and personally I see nothing special in his batting. I enjoy watching English and Australian batsmen more than these Indians,” said a fan.
It seems to have worked Kohli who responded by saying, “Okay, I don’t think you should live in India then… you should go and live somewhere else, no? Why are you living in our country and loving other countries? I don’t mind you not liking me but I don’t think you should live in our country and like other things. Get your priorities right.” Virat Kohli Suggests Fan to Leave India Who Likes Foreign Batsmen; Watch Viral Video of Indian Captain’s 'Intolerant' Response
Interestingly, Kohli himself was a fan of former South African opener Herschelle Gibbs. Kohli during the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup in 2008 had said that Gibbs is his favourite player. So, going by the Indian skippers logic, shouldn’t he himself the leave the country first? Instead of naming Indian cricketer like Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly or Rahul Dravid as his favourite, Kohli chose an overseas player.
Here's the video proof:
It is unfortunate how Kohli handled a ‘mean’ comment. He could have used a polite response to get back at the fan, instead, he took dig at the cricket follower and matters worse. Social media users were quick to point out Kohli’s ‘arrogance’ and believed Tendulkar, with whom Kohli is compared these days, would have never reacted like Kohli. Some even suggested that great cricketers are made off the field as well not just on the field.
