Virat Kohli’s Ad of Hero Xtreme 200R Bike to Be Banned by the Government: Reports

As per various reports, Ministry of Transportation has asked the Advertising Standard Council of India to ban the advertisement as it promotes rash and careless driving.

It seems things are not going Virat Kohli’s way these days. No, the Indian cricket team captain is not out of the form. It is his off-field activities that are creating the trouble for the team India skipper. Recently, Kohli faced harsh criticism after he suggested a fan to leave India who felt that the right-handed batsman was overrated. As per various reports, Ministry of Transportation has asked the Advertising Standard Council of India to ban the advertisement as it promotes rash and careless driving. The ad, which was released in September this year, promotes the message 'Fear Nothing', and shows Kohli performing some rash stunts.

Once the TVC was released, there were many who objected it and demanded a ban. And, it seems government has listened to them and is all to ban the TVC featuring Kohli. Kohli is known to be choosy about the ads and has stopped endorsing products like cold drinks and fairness cream.

In September this year, Kohli was named as Hero MotoCorp Ltd’s brand ambassador. The TVC for new Xtreme 200R premium motorcycle was Kohli’s first ad for the company. Soon after Kohli was signed as the brand ambassador, Hero MotoCorp Chairman, MD, and CEO Pawan Munjal said, Kohli represents the youth of today, which 'Fears Nothing' and aims for the pinnacle- characteristics that have always defined Hero.”

“Brand Hero stands for trust, excellence, and resilience – the qualities that truly personifies the charisma of Virat as a global icon," he added.

On his association with the company, Kohli had said, "Millions of young boys and girls of my generation have grown up riding Hero motorcycles and scooters and it is, therefore, a unique and special feeling to associate with this brand". (Inputs PTI).
