As per the source, the Indian captain has given up eating eggs, meat and dairy products. The source further went on to reveal that he does not miss eating any of these products. “Two years ago, when he was on a normal diet, he had said that he would go vegan if given a choice. He is now feeling stronger than before. Kohli started this diet four months ago and is feeling stronger as his digestive power has increased. He isn't missing meat, eggs or dairy,” said the source to a leading daily.

With this, the cricketer has joined the league of Serena and Venus Williams, four-time Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton and legendary sprinter Carl Lewis who turned vegan in the past. While speaking about his diet on a show, Kohli has revealed that he ate an omelette, three egg whites, one whole egg with spinach black pepper and cheese, some grilled bacon or smoked salmon along with it. “eat papaya or dragon fruit if it's available or watermelon. I eat a decent amount of cheese for good fats. I carry my own butters and I get gluten-free bread from the hotels...so I apply on that. Then a nice big pot of green tea with lemon, I drink three to four cups of that," Kohli said in the past.
