Virat Kohli produced a stunning one-handed stunner to remove South African captain Quinton de Kock during the 2nd T20I game between India and South Africa in Mohali. The Indian skipper, who was animated with his team’s fielding efforts, lifted the Indian team’s spirits with a spectacular catch in the 12th over of Proteas’ innings off the bowling of Navdeep Saini. Twitter bowed down to “King Kohli” for the beauty but insisted that perhaps the Indian skipper was taking catching lessons from teammate Ravindra Jadeja, who is niched a name for himself with some terrific efforts in the field. De Kock, in the company of Temba Bavuma, was steering South Africa towards a huge total after being invited to bat first by India. The 26-year-old left-hander had already registered his half-century by smashing Jadeja to the boundary in the earlier over – before his dismissal – and with 52 runs from 35 deliveries, which included eight boundaries and a 57-run stand with Bavuma, De Kock was looking to big before eventually perishing to a Kohli stunner. Kohli’s catch came an over after De Kock completed his fifty. The South African tried to pull a short a delivery from Saini only to sky above the bowler’s head where Kohli held on to an one-handed stunner. The Indian skipper ran from mid-on and somehow scrapped to catch the ball. But it was the 30-year-old’s terrific presence of mind to hold on to the catch with one hand despite falling to the ground that earned him praise online.

Five balls later Jadeja produced another spectacular catch and got twitter rolling. His flying catch to dismiss Rassie van der Dussen led netizens to term him as the “guru” of all spectacular catches. Many Netizens also claimed that Kohli was perhaps taking catching lessons from Jadeja.
