Virat Kohli scored his 23rd Test century during the ongoing third Test match against England. Kohli had a nightmarish tour in 2014 and now has silenced his critics like he always has, with a truckload of runs. With it, the Indian captain has surpassed Azharuddin’s record of most Test centuries for an Indian and is now 4th on the list.
Kohli played a calm inning in the third Test match, where he was dismissed on 103 runs in the second innings. In the first innings, he fell short of three runs and was denied a century by Abdul Rashid as he was dismissed on 97 runs. With his scintillating knock of 103 runs, Kohli went past former Indian cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin, regarding centuries scored, and is now par with Virender Sehwag with almost half the number of matches.

Virat Kohli has scores of records against his name, and it seems that he might add many more, given the speed in which he is scoring runs. Not only Test cricket but be it any format, i.e. One Day Internationals (ODIs) or Twenty20 Internationals (T20I) – the one thing that has remained common is Kohli’s stupendous batting form!
