Virat Kohli overtook Don Bradman’s Test runs tally to complete 7000 runs in Test cricket and once set the argument alight of who the better batsman is, in all formats of the game. Kohli smashed his seventh double hundred in Test cricket – joint-most double hundreds by an Indian – an overtook the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag and Ricky Ponting. Kohli also scored his 40th international century as captain of India across all formats of the game to go just one century shy of equaling Rick Ponting’s haul of 41 international hundreds as captain of Australia. This was, however, two of the several records he smashed on Day 2 of second India vs South Africa Test match. India Vs South Africa, Live Cricket Score 2nd Test Match.
Kohli is also only second to Bradman when it comes to the number of innings taken to score centuries in Test cricket. While the Don scored one hundred at every 2.71 Test innings, Kohli has a rate of hitting one century every 4.63 innings. His breathtaking century set Twitter on fire with many users hailing the Indian skipper for another record-breaking inning.
