Virat Kohli Press Conference Scheduled on July 29 Before Leaving for West Indies Tour

The uncertainty regarding the press conference came at a time when there are reports of a rift between Kohli and Rohit Sharma. It is alleged that the duo has developed indifferences following India’s defeat against New Zealand in the semi-final of ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.

Amid reports that Indian cricket team will depart for the United States without holding a press conference the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed that team India captain Virat Kohli will speak to the press in Mumbai before boarding the flight. India’s tour of West Indies begins with three-match T20Is. The first two T20Is will be played in Florida and then the team will head to the Carribean for the third T20I, three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and two Tests.

As per BCCI’s press release, the cricket board has scheduled the Kohli presser in Mumbai for around 6 PM on Monday, July 29 and then the Indian team will leave for their tour. Meanwhile, opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan is set to make a comeback after nursing a finger injury suffered during the Cricket World Cup 2019. All-rounder Hardik Pandya has been rested from all formats while fast-bowler Jasprit Bumrah will feature only in Tests.
