Virat Kohli is someone who is extremely emotional and passionate. There are many occasions where the Indian captain has displayed his emotions on-field and crossed the line. Now, on Sunday during the third T20I, the Indian captain was pulled up for having an inappropriate shoulder contact with Beuran Hendricks and this bagged him a demerit point. This is Kohli’s third demerit point since the start of September 2016. Which means Kohli has to stay away from flaunting his emotions on the field. If he happens to bag one more demerit point, he could be suspended for 24 months. Virat Kohli Reprimanded By ICC For Inappropriate Physical Contact With Beuran Hendricks During IND vs SA 3rd T20I Match, Given One Demerit Point.

As per  Article 2.12 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to "inappropriate physical contact with a Player, Player Support Personnel, Umpire, Match Referee or any other person (including a spectator) during an International Match." The first offence happened during India’s tour to South Africa where he was fined 25 per cent of for his on-field behaviour.

The second offence was during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 where he reprimanded for excessive appeal during India’s match against Afghanistan. Umpire Aleem Dar pulled him up for the same and fined him with 25 per cent of the match fees. According to the revised code, when a player reaches four or more demerit points within a 24-month period, they are converted into suspension points and a player is banned.
